CORRECTIONS POLICY

How CloudPath reviews, corrects and explains material errors.

Accuracy is a continuing responsibility. When a significant error is identified, CloudPath Tech reviews the concern and corrects the published record where appropriate.

Corrections should be clear, proportionate to the mistake and visible enough for readers to understand what changed.

WHAT WE REVIEW

Concerns that may require correction

Not every disagreement is a factual error. We review concerns that identify a specific problem affecting the accuracy, attribution or meaning of an article.

01 — FACTS

Incorrect factual details

Names, dates, figures, locations, product details or descriptions that are demonstrably inaccurate.

02 — ATTRIBUTION

Incorrect or unclear sourcing

A source may be misidentified, insufficiently credited or connected to an incorrect or broken URL.

03 — CONTEXT

Materially misleading context

Important context may be missing or wording may create a meaning that is not supported by the available evidence.

04 — HEADLINES

A headline that overstates the story

A title or excerpt may require revision when it is stronger, broader or more certain than the article and its source justify.

05 — AI OUTPUT

Unsupported generated content

An AI-assisted draft may contain an unsupported claim, invented detail or inaccurate interpretation of the source.

06 — IMAGES

A misleading illustration

An editorial image may require replacement or clarification if it could reasonably be mistaken for documentary evidence.

REPORTING AN ERROR

Send enough information for us to review the concern.

The fastest way to request a correction is through our contact page. Select the corrections or editorial enquiry option when available.

Please describe the specific statement, headline, image, attribution or link you believe is incorrect. Include reliable supporting evidence whenever possible.

General disagreement with an opinion, interpretation or editorial emphasis does not automatically require a correction.

REVIEW PROCESS

What happens after a report is received

Correction requests are assessed against the article, its source material and any reliable evidence supplied by the person reporting the issue.

1

Receive

We record the article and the specific concern that has been raised.

2

Compare

We compare the published wording with the original source and available evidence.

3

Decide

We determine whether a correction, clarification, update, removal or no change is appropriate.

4

Document

Material corrections are explained visibly in or alongside the updated article.

TYPES OF CHANGES

Different problems require different responses

The action taken depends on the nature and significance of the issue.

Correction

A factual error is changed and a correction notice may explain the original error and the accurate information.

Clarification

The original statement may not be factually false, but additional wording is added to prevent misunderstanding.

Routine update

New information, a working link or a minor stylistic improvement may be added without implying the original article was materially wrong.

Substantial revision

A significant portion of an article may be rewritten when the original presentation was incomplete or materially misleading.

Retraction

An article may be retained with a prominent retraction notice when its central claims cannot be supported.

Removal

Complete removal is exceptional and may be considered for legal, safety, privacy or serious integrity reasons.

VISIBLE NOTICES

Material corrections should remain understandable.

When a significant factual change is made, the article may include a correction or update note describing the issue and the action taken.

We do not silently alter a material error merely to create the appearance that the original article was always accurate.

EXAMPLE NOTICE

Correction

An earlier version of this article misstated the date of the product announcement. The announcement was made on 18 July, not 17 July.

RESPONSE TIMES

Urgent factual concerns receive priority.

Review time depends on the complexity of the issue, the availability of evidence and whether additional verification is required.

A correction request should be specific and verifiable.

CloudPath may contact the person submitting a report for clarification or supporting material. Submission of a request does not guarantee that an article will be changed.

Abusive, repetitive or unrelated messages may not receive a response.
